Cub Scout Pow Wow
This was my display on Saturday. My theme was of course "Jungle Safari". Jim was nice enough to drive me down to Snake River High School at 6:00am to help me set it up. It went up easy, but the other district that shared my theme didn't seem to bring anything to display with it. Jim took a bunch of pictures of this and the other displays so I could remember the ideas for future Roundtables.
There is also a theme call "Jurassic Pack" coming up in 2009 that will be so much fun to do and set up for. Jim wants to build a huge dinosaur HA HA. Anyway, there was a cool idea for an activity to hunt for dinosaur eggs that you make out of "Coffee Dough" and can crack open to find the tiny dinosaur you had hidden inside. Here is the recipe for the dough and some pictures of the displayed eggs.
"Coffee Dough"
2 1/2 cups flour
2 1/2 cups USED coffee grounds
1 1/2 cups salt
1 cup of Sand
up to 1 cup of water
Mix the first four ingredients together then add water a little at a time (use as little as possible) just until you can form the egg shape
around your mini dinosaur. It takes about a week to dry. After it is thoroughly dry you could bury it in some sand and then you can have the dinosaur expert in your house gently brush away the sand to reveal the eggs and have them crack them open to discover what's inside. Cub Scouts would love this activity and so would some adults, you know, like ME! I'm just a kid at heart anyway.

Very fun, jungle theme. I love theme decorating.
I did have a little party with my Halloween decor. It was the week before for my bday. I used lots of glow sticks and candles so there was no lights. The pictures didn't come out though.
