A DISCOVERY

Back in March, we went to Hollywood to see the play "Wicked". While we were there we went to Beverly Hills to look around. Erica spotted a "Sprinkles Cupcakes" the original famous one. So we parked and walked by. It smell heavenly so we decided we should eat lunch first or all we would eat would be cupcakes. Just up the street was a Panini Grille, so we ate there, it was awesome. We walked back to Sprinkles to see what all the fuss was about. HA! we found out. It was a small "Art Deco" shop. Outside on the side walk were a few tables that were packed. I noticed a cute little oriental guy at a table seriously eating a cupcake, we went inside to get in line and the next thing I know the oriental kid is cutting in front of us. We just let him go. He was so funny! He asked the lady how long the cupcakes would stay fresh. She said they were best if eaten the same day but could last a day or two longer if kept covered. He asked for a dozen, she asked if he wanted one of each flavor, he said yes but he wanted 6 "red velvet" so he increased his order to 2 doz. We laughed. They have a big board on the wall behind the counter and it is a giant chart, color coded, for which cup cakes they make which days. You too can see the chart at http://www.sprinklescupcakes.com/
These cupcakes are the most tender, moist, pillowy softness you will ever put in your mouth. Everything is made from scratch with the highest quality ingredients, like "Madagascar Bourbon Vanilla" and the sprinkles that they put on are real. Real chocolate!, for example, teeny tiny chocolate squares on the double chocolate. I think the Beverly Hills cupcakes are better than the Scottsdale cupcakes just a tich but then Beverly Hills was my first taste!
When the Scottsdale store opened, Erica was kind enough to stand in line, order, pay for, and pack our cupcakes all the way back to Idaho for us in special packaging to keep them as fresh as possible. Well, we met her in SLC to drive her back to Idaho. We had to stop at the shop and split up the order. Once done, I think we sampled at least 3 flavors right away, left a couple on peoples desks to have immediatley when they got to work, then I drove home to share with Jim. He LOVED the strawberry, made with REAL strawberrys!
